Lake dredging is the process of digging up an area that is either partly or fully submerged in order to gather sediments that have settled on the bottom of a lake or pond and disposing these sediments onto some other place. This process is often carried out so as to reduce pillage or remove piled sediments from a water body. This is often done in water bodies that are normally used for commercial purposes such as fishing and ship-docking.
