Hormonal acne is a kind of acne which usually occurs due to hormonal imbalances in the body. It is an androgenic disorder which means it is set off by the effects of hormones called androgens. These include testosterone, DHEA'S and others.
The first event leading to acne is the stimulation of sebaceous glands by testosterone. And then the pores get clogged with oil trapped inside leading to bacterial growth in the oil, which causes infection like visible as acne.
