The fan makes a little noise but overall it has worked well for us. I like that it has the temperature adjustment on top and the fan is on the top.
You must constantly keep an eye on the progress of dehydrating your food so as not to under- or over-dehydrate. It is best to consult the instruction booklet that comes with the unit as to the approximate times and set a separate timer. It works great and makes as much noise as a small fan. I don't think this is going to take all night as I feared
